Ouagadougou (commonly called Ouaga - pronounced wa-ga) is the capital of Burkina Faso in West Africa. It is the nation's largest city and its administrative, communications, cultural and economic center.

The name Ouagadougou dates back to the 15th century when the Ninsi tribes inhabited the area, meaning "where people get honor and respect".
